Samuel Martin was born on February 27, 1982, in Los Angeles, California, and passed away on January 25, 2026, in the Bronx, New York.

Samuel was a loving husband and devoted father who cherished his family above all else. He was married to his beloved wife, Alysha Daniel-Martin, and together they built a life rooted in love, loyalty, and deep family bonds.

He leaves behind his children: Ciani Martin, Sammy Martin Jr., Sacrett Martin, and Cameron Martin; his stepchildren, Mackenzie Flores, Madison Marte Flores, and Messiah Brown; and his step-grandchildren, Phaith and Malaya, all of whom he loved deeply.

Samuel was the only child of the late Altamayse Littles and Carl Martin. He is preceded in death by mother, Altamayse Littles, his aunts, Althea Littles and Carol Littles.

He shared a close and meaningful bond with his mother-in-law, Sylvia Knox, whom he leaned on for guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support. He also shared a lifelong, brother-like bond with his cousin, Dana Davis, who remained a constant source of love, loyalty, and friendship throughout his life.

Throughout his life, Samuel worked in various roles, including as a security officer, window installer, patient care coordinator, and maintenance worker. In every position, he demonstrated dedication, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility to those who depended on him.

Samuel loved spending quality time with friends and family and was known for his infectious laughter and joyful spirit. He had a way of lifting others’ moods, often reminding them with his favorite saying, “No crying in the club,” a phrase that perfectly captured his ability to find humor and light even during difficult moments.

A passionate sports fan, Samuel proudly supported the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Lakers. Whether enjoying a game, sharing stories, or simply being present, he brought warmth and connection to those around him.

While he loved watching his professional teams, he was the biggest fan of his son Sammy Jr. who plays college football, he was devoted to watching every game that Sammy appeared in on live television.

Samuel loved doting over all his children and holding dear all the memories of them growing up.

Samuel leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends whose lives were touched by his kindness, humor, and generous heart.

Though Samuel’s time with us was far too short, his memory will live through the love he gave and the joy he brought to everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and forev
